Disney has come to JCPenney in a big way.
Last week, more than 500 JCPenney stores launched a Disney Shop inside their locations. The new retail space offers toys, collectibles, and children’s clothes designed specifically for JCPenney. The clothing features characters from Monsters University, Toy Story, Tangled, and Disney Junior shows.
Each Disney Shop ranges in size from 800 to 1,100 square feet and has a distinct look to make shopping magical for guests. Other merchandise includes Disney-themed plush toys, dolls, figurine sets, sleepwear, costumes, and other apparel in sizes 2-10. Prices range from $7 for a plush toy up to $90 for a keepsake set of Disney Princess dolls.
“The Disney Shops at JCPenney is a great example of how Disney Consumer Products is tapping new opportunities to meet the purchase behaviors and patterns of consumers,” said Paul Gainer, executive vice president, Disney Retail. “Disney is known for combining incredible storytelling with quality product and we are excited to see the Disney Shops at JCPenney come to life, giving consumers a new way to engage with their favorite Disney characters and stories.”
The Disney Shops inside JCPenney are debuting a large assortment of Monsters University products to coincide with the October 29 DVD release of Monsters University. One of the movie tie-in products is a life size plush Mike Wazowski.
The Disney Shop launched online at jcp.com in September.
