It’s official. Disney’s Polynesian Resort is the next location for the Disney Vacation Club.
This announcement comes after much speculation as to what where the next DVC Resort would be located. The latest DVC destination, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, is scheduled to open on October 23.
According to a press release, construction on the project has already started and the project will be completed in 2015.
The addition of DVC at the Polynesian means all three resorts on the monorail will have DVC – The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Bay Lake Tower, and the Polynesian.
Disney has not announced how many DVC units are being added, but the announcement did mention that other guest areas in the Polynesian will also undergo refurbishment at the same time the DVC units are being constructed. The press release also promised that “more information and project details will be shared at a later date.”
