Disney fans who love Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and other Disney movies are going to want to tune in to Disney XD beginning July 30 when the network transforms itself into Disney Fandom.
This three-night programming event celebrates the fans and showcases programs from Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar and more. The event is geared toward viewers ages 13 and older and will feature Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies, a Star Wars documentary, and special programs created for Disney Fandom.
During the event fans will get a sneak peek at Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Other sneak peeks include Frozen, Disney’s Planes, and ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.
“We are creating a destination for Disney fans thirteen and older to come together and celebrate the characters and content they love from every corner of the Walt Disney Company, including specials created specifically for Disney Fandom. This is the ultimate destination for Disney fans everywhere.” said David Levine, Vice President and General Manager, Disney XD Worldwide.
The special programming begins July 30 at 8 p.m. ET with On The Red Carpet Disney Fandom Edition where Rachel Smith and Radio Disney personality Morgan Thompkins give fans an all-access pass to San Diego Comic Con. Following that at 8:30 p.m. is Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl. At 11:30 p.m. is Star Wars Tech, a documentary about the technical aspects of Star Wars.
The July 31 programming features Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest at 8:30 p.m. On August 1, Live Well Network’s My Family Recipe Rocks – Star Wars Edition premieres at 8:30 p.m., where host Joey Faton visits the world’s largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia in a museum near Skywalker Ranch and cooks from the Star Wars Cookbook.
Also on August 1 is Meet the Disney Legends, another Disney Fandom premiere. This special, hosted by My Yard Goes Disney’s Brandon Johnson lets fans meet the newest Disney Legends including Billy Crystal, Tony Baxter, and Glen Keane – all of whom are being inducted as Disney Legends on August 10 at the D23 Expo.
Other programs include Once Upon a Time: For the Fans which features never-before-seen interviews with the cast of ABC’s Once Upon a Time and a special look at the families of Storybrooke. Disney Fandom's programming event closes out with Pirates of the Caribbean At World’s End.
