We can’t wait to see more from Shanghai Disneyland, the next major Disney theme park currently under construction. This week, it was revealed that the park is now one step closer to completion, as construction officially commenced on the park’s spectacular Enchanted Storybook Castle.
Yesterday, the Disney Parks Blog posted this picture of the construction, in which you can see the first concrete piles being laid down that will support the new castle:
When it’s completed, the Shanghai castle will be the tallest and most immersive of all the iconic Disney castles. Unlike the other castles from Disney’s parks around the world, this castle will represent all the Disney Princesses, rather than just one alone, and will contain a variety of immersive experiences. Guests will be able to enjoy entertainment, dining, and performances spaces all inside the Enchanted Storybook Castle, as well as the new “Once Upon a Time Adventure” walkthrough attraction and an underground boat ride.
Stay tuned for more updates on Shanghai Disneyland, which is currently slated to open in 2015.
