Disney Channel will soon see the game show genre return to its lineup, as it was announced this week that the channel will debut a revised version of popular 1980’s game show Win, Lose, or Draw. Hosted by Cupcake Wars‘ Justin Willman, the new show will begin production in July and make its television debut later this year.
Co-created by Burt Reynolds, Win, Lose, or Draw was a game show in which one player would draw a clue that their teammates had to identify before the clock ran out. This isn’t Disney Channel’s first experience with the show, as an earlier youth version of it, Teen Win, Lose, or Draw, ran on the channel from 1989 to 1992.
About the new show, Disney Channel’s senior vice president of original programming Adam Bonnett commented:
“We’re eager to introduce a new generation of kids and families to a 21st century version of the popular Win, Lose or Draw, and are confident its creative game play plus its incorporation of physical comedy will complement our programming lineup.”
This new revival of the show will give the classic game show a more modern look, with the players’ drawing boards set to feature motion control, interactive multi-touch screen displays, and graphic technology. Each episode will feature two teams going head to head, with each team comprised of one Disney star and two kid contestants.
Disney Channel’s new Win, Lose, or Draw is executive produced by Scott St. John (Deal or No Deal) and Summerdale Productions with ABC Media Group.
