Earlier this week SEGA and Disney Interactive announced the upcoming digital release of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. This game is a total re-imagining of the Genesis side-scrolling adventure that was originally released in 1990. The new game will be available for digital download later this summer on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox360, PlayStation Network and Windows PC.
Castle of Illusion originally debuted on the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive and was met with much critical acclaim. The new version has been completely rebuilt with new visuals and new gameplay mechanics. In the game, players will help Mickey save Minnie from an evil witch name Mizrabel.
“The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a SEGA classic. Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation,” said Chris Olson, vice president of Digital Business at SEGA of America. “Mickey is back and he looks fantastic.”
