Walt Disney Parks and Resorts sponsored the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida’s 2013 Eagle Award Ceremony as part of their commitment to diversity and local business.
This year, the annual event was held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Several prominent African America business leaders and entrepreneurs were recognized for their achievements in their field.
Says Belinda Frazier, senior manager for Minority Business Development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts:
Our longstanding relationship with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida is part of how Disney assists in the growth of small businesses in the region. Working with the Chamber also supports our efforts to increase business opportunities for diverse suppliers with Walt Disney World.
Several awards were handed out, including the coveted Eagle Award presented to Doug Hollis of Hollis Enterprises, Inc. Other awards included:
- Corporation of the Year Award – The City of Orlando Blue Print Project and Universal Orlando Resort
- Emerging Business of the Year Award – C&C Convenience, Inc.
- Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Tom Kornegay of TeKontrol, Inc. and Anderson Hill of HZ Construction
Angeline Aguayo, a member of Disney’s Minority Business Development Team, was also recognized for her commitment to the organization.
