Following the introduction of Grizzly Gulch and Toy Story Land, Hong Kong Disneyland is hard at work on the next component of their $3.6 billion expansion: Mystic Point.
According to Disney, Mystic Point will be an area where guests can see “mysterious forces and supernatural events in the heart of a dense, uncharted rain forest.” One of the star attractions of this new section of the park will be Mystic Manor, a haunted house-themed ride where visitors will be able to view Lord Henry Mystic’s artefacts he has collected on his travels.
Mystic Point is slated to open sometime this spring, but Disney is also working on expanding the hotels available on Hong Kong Disneyland property. Vice-president of park operations Noble Coker said that while the government has not addressed theme parks specifically, he is confident that they still want to move forward with further expansion of the theme park. Before any new hotels can be built, however, Coker says that “the timing and costs must be studied.”
