The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have recently issued a recall for more than 6,000 Disney fleece hoodies and t-shirt sets sold at Target.
The apparel was recalled due to excessive amounts of lead on the coating of the zippers, sources say. While no incidents have been reported, if a child were to chew on the zipper or place the zipper in his mouth, that child could be exposed to dangerous levels of lead.
The recalled items are a two-piece coordinating hoodie and t-shirt, sold in red/white, gray/red and black/blue color combinations. You can determine whether your child has one of the recalled sets by looking at the identification number on the label affixed to the hoodie’s side seam. The recalled items are:
- Red Fleece Hoodie with Snow White DP4253B
- Grey Fleece Hoodie with Mickey Mouse J4821
- Blue Fleece Hoodie with Cars J4820-A
These sets were sold at Target stores nationwide from October 2011 to December 2011. You may return the set to Target for a full refund, or call the Children’s Apparel Network at 1-800-919-1917.
