Fans of ABC Family’s hit series Pretty Little Liars won’t have to worry about this action-packed show ending anytime soon, as it was officially announced this week that the series has been renewed for a fourth season. The show’s fourth season will consist of 24 one-hour episodes, which are set to begin airing in mid-2013.
Pretty Little Liars follows the lives of four friends in Rosewood, PA, who begin receiving mysterious messages and threats following the murder of their best friend Alison. The wildly popular show has become ABC Family’s #1 series of all time, and was the #1 cable show in viewers 12-34 and females 12-34 for summer 2012.
Pretty Little Liars aired its midseason finale in August, and fans still have the rest of season three to look forward to before the fourth season’s debut. The show’s new thrilling Halloween-themed episode will air on ABC Family October 23, and the second half of the show’s third season will begin airing in January 2013. In the mean time, viewers can get their Pretty Little Liars fix over on ABCFamily.com, where a new episode of the webseries “Pretty Dirty Secrets,” featuring many of the show’s characters, is released each Tuesday.
