Actress Julia Roberts and her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas will soon be working with ABC on a new comedy series. The series, entitled Taming of the Shrew, was officially sold to ABC in a deal that was announced this week.
Taming of the Shrew, which bears no relation to William Shakespeare’s famous play other than in name, focuses on a horrible boss and her employees that try to reign her in. The half-hour comedy series will be produced in conjunction with ABC Studios by Roberts’ production company Red Om Films with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas of 3 Arts.
This new show is the most recent of many collaborations between Roberts and Goldsmith-Thomas, which include two films based on the American Girl series and the short-lived TV show Queens Supreme. The two women will serve as executive producers for Taming of the Shrew, which features a script by Marc Hyman (Meet the Fockers).
No premiere date or additional details have been announced yet about the series. Stay tuned for more updates on this new show.
