Reservations for Disney’s Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Beauty and the Beast area of the New Fantasyland opened up yesterday at 7 a.m. ET. Disney fans have been anticipating the opening of this restaurant for months, and they were eagerly waiting to make their dining reservations.
Unfortunately, there were many who reported issues with the automated phone system for booking dining reservations, most notably the absence of a requirement for credit card information. Disney now requires a credit card number to hold a reservation at many of their table service restaurants, Be Our Guest included. Reservations made without a credit card are typically cancelled automatically after 24 hours. This sent a wave of panic through the Disney community. Would those who had secured a reservation without a credit card lose their coveted spot at the table? The issue was resolved quickly, and by yesterday afternoon it was announced that the reservations made without a credit card would not be cancelled. However, it is recommended that guests call the dining line today in order to add the credit card information and confirm their reservation.
Another issue stems from the mass of people wanting to secure reservations for the busy holiday season at Walt Disney World. If you are calling to try and secure a reservation, expect busy lines and long hold times. If you are an Annual Passholder or DVC member, you may have better luck calling their separate phone lines, as they are typically less busy.
Online reservations can be made starting August 22 via www.disneyworld.com/dine. Disney’s Be Our Guest restaurant will open for service on November 19. Lunch will be served as counter-service, while the dinner hours will be considered table service. Stay tuned for more updates on the dining situation at Be Our Guest as it develops.
