Disney has been focusing heavily on mobile games, and now they’ve partnered with an indie game studio for their latest creation: Temple Run Brave.
The game is based on the mobile game Temple Run, which was created by Imangi Studios and has been downloaded more than 80 million times since its release.
Bart Decrem, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Mobile, says:
I think it’s great that Disney can partner with a small indie-studio in a market that is so dynamic.
Decrem also said that smartphone apps are the biggest priority for Disney, especially if they want to stay in touch with the newest generation of consumers. Mobile and social games have seen the most explosive growth, so that’s where Disney will be concentrating their efforts in order to keep up with the competition and give consumers what they want.
Temple Run Brave will have the same type of “endless runner” feel as the original app, but with a Pixar twist and, of course, the title character of Brave – Merida.
The game will be available for $0.99 on the App store beginning June 14.
