Bon Voyage will screen at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily throughout the month of June except for Tuesdays, June 16, 23, and 29. Admission is $7/adults, $5/kids 17 and younger or free with museum admission.
Other notable activities include:
- Heinrich Kley: From Fantasy to Fantasia, a special exhibition appearing now until September 17. This exhibit features drawings from Kley, a notable European illustrator for Disney, paired with artwork from Disney’s Fantasia. Kley’s artwork is on display for the first time in the United States and come from Walt Disney’s personal collection.
- The Bridge on the Big Screen: Movies Starring the Golden Gate Bridge – This special screening will be held Saturday, June 16 and is free on a first come, first served basis starting at 10 a.m. Visitors will be able to watch the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo, while film critic Jan Wahl will discuss little-known facts about the film and what role the Golden Gate bridge plays.
- Selling Walt: The Business (and Fun) of Movie Promotion – Taking place on June 23, author and past manager of The Walt Disney Archives Robert Tieman will discuss the forgotten world of the Advance Promotion Campaign. This formerly standard practice was designed to sell a movie by introducing characters and stories to the public to get them excited about an upcoming film. The program will feature rare advertisements and photos, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at Walt Disney’s public image and the standing of his studio.
- Look Closer: Walt and the 1964 New York World’s Fair – This event will take place June 22, 23 and 24 and feature an in-depth look into how Walt Disney led his Imagineers to create four of the world’s most innovative attractions.
There are a variety of classes and activities that will also be happening at the museum this summer, so for more information please visit waltdisney.org.
