The Fantasyland renovation at Walt Disney World is progressing nicely, with the opening of one of the two Dumbos in Storybook Circus, a brand new train station and The Barnstormer family-friendly coaster. Now, Disney has announced the next two phases in openings for this multi-year expansion.
Says Meg Crofton, president, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, United States and France:
Fantasyland is a place where a very special kind of memory is made: where children just old enough to understand the moment come in contact with princesses and heroes and meet their most beloved friends. We are excited about sharing our treasured stories in new ways and giving guests the opportunity to interact with their favorite characters like never before.
While specific dates have not been announced, we do know that July and the holiday season will be big milestones for the Fantasyland expansion. The next phases are:
July 2012:
- Opening of the second Dumbo
- Interactive indoor area serving the Dumbo attraction
- Casey Jr. Splash “N” Soak Station
In Time for “Holidays 2012:”
- Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Enchanted Tales with Belle
- Be Our Guest Restaurant
- Gaston’s Tavern
- Ariel’s Grotto
Additionally, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction is slated for opening sometime in 2014.
