Disney Acquires Film Rights to Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’

Disney recently announced that they’ve acquired the film rights to author Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, a 2008 novel that has won several literary awards since its publication.

The novel has been shopped to various studios the past several several years, but hasn’t gone anywhere. Now, Disney will have a shot at adapting the popular novel for the big screen.

The Graveyard Book chronicles the life of a boy named Nobody Owens. His family is killed when he is a toddler, so Nobody is raised by ghosts in a cemetery. Once Nobody becomes a teenager, his family’s murderer – “The Man Jack-” returns to pursue Nobody with seemingly evil intent.

At this point, specific details regarding filming or release dates are unavailable, but we’ll keep you updated when further news is announced.
