Despite the dismal profit numbers for Disney’s sci-fi adventure flick John Carter, the star of the film, Taylor Kitsch, has no regrets.
It remains unclear whether Disney will produce any sequels to the film, but Kitsch made it known that he would be completely on board if such a thing were to occur. Says Kitsch:
I’m very proud of ‘John Carter’. Box office doesn’t validate me as a person, or as an actor. I’d love to go do ‘John Carter 2. I really would. It’s just s***ty I don’t get to work with the [‘John Carter’] family. It really was a special thing.
Formerly known for his role playing Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights, Kitsch’s move to the big screen failed to meet with much success. Hopefully his next film Battleship will be more exciting.
Since it’s opening weekend on March 9, John Carter met with disappointing numbers and is set to lose $200 million before it’s all said and done.
