With the recent addition of the Disney Dream, and the Disney Fantasy making its maiden voyage in just two months, Disney Cruise Line will soon have more space for travelers than ever before. To take advantage of this increase, Disney Cruise Line announced an expanded number of destinations and ports for 2013 that cruisers are sure to be excited about.
On December 23, 2012, Disney Cruise Line will sail from Miami for the first time, making it the second Floridian port for the cruise line. Following one six-night and one seven-night cruise out of Miami, Disney will be offering a series of four and five-night Caribbean cruises from Miami between January 5-May 2, 2013. These new cruises on the Disney Wonder will include such stops as Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Key West; Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
The Disney Magic will set sail from Galveston, Texas for the first time this year, and continue from that port through May 2013. Cruises out of Galveston will sail to the Western Caribbean, including such stops as Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.
Beginning in May 2013, guests will be able to set sail on the Disney Wonder from Vancouver, Canada, where they will be able to explore the beauty and adventure of Alaska on seven-night Alaskan cruises. Stops will include Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, Alaska.
The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will be sailing from the original Disney Cruise Line port, Port Canaveral in Florida. The Disney Fantasy, which will make its maiden voyage on March 31, 2012, will offer seven-night cruises to the Caribbean. The itineraries will alternate between eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel), with all cruises including a stop at Castaway Cay. From January-April 2013, eastern Caribbean sailings will also include a special stop at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Disney Dream will offer three, four, and five-night sailings to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay.
Beginning June 1, 2013, the Disney Magic will return to Europe for an expanded number of different Mediterranean sailings, all departing from Barcelona, Spain. Four night Mediterranean Getaways will travel to Nice, France, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, while seven-night Mediterranean cruises will travel to Nice, France, as well as Florence, Rome, and Naples in Italy. For those who want a longer cruise, the Disney Magic will also offer twelve-night cruises with Greece and twelve-night cruises to Venice, which will all travel to Nice, France; Florence, Italy; Rome, Italy, and Vanetta, Malta. The Greece cruises will also travel to Athens, Greece; Ephesus, Turkey, and Mykonos, Greece. The Venice cruises will make an overnight stop in Venice, Italy, and also travel to Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Guests traveling aboard these seven and twelve night cruises will also be able to experience some extra experiences, thanks to Adventures by Disney. Guests will have access to exclusive Adventures by Disney activities at each port, with Adventure Guides on hand to help travelers explore these rich locations. Specific pricing and information about these experiences will be available in March 2012. In addition, guests traveling on select departure dates can explore Spain’s amazing culture with special three or four-night pre-cruise Adventures by Disney itineraries in Barcelona and Madrid. These guided tours will offer VIP access in major tourist destination and hands-on activities to immerse guests into the city’s culture, making these experiences great ways to explore these cities.
