The Disneyland Resort is preparing for the opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in a few months, and the land’s new attractions are beginning to take shape. The new land will feature three brand new attractions: Radiatior Springs Racers, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, and Luigi’s Flying Tires. With the opening just a few weeks away, Walt Disney Imagineering has begun ride testing these new attractions, and thanks to the Disney Parks Blog, we now have a glimpse into these exciting new additions to Disney California Adventure.
Here’s a look at Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, which features baby tractors that dance around to songs that Mater is singing, with guests riding in the trailers being pulled behind them:
John Lasseter, the chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, recently got to experience the ride testing for another new attraction, Luigi’s Flying Tires. In this attraction, guests will be seated in giant tire vehicles, which will be lifted slightly off the ground by air coming through the floor of the attraction, allowing the vehicles to float and fly around. Guests will be able to control the direction they travel in by shifting their weight, or can pull a lever and spin their tire around. Cars Land is currently scheduled to open in Summer 2012.
