Fans of comic books and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story films will be in for a treat next year. This week, Marvel and Disney Publishing announced that all of our favorite Toy Story characters will be making their comic book debuts with the release of Toy Story issue #1.
This comic book, which will feature entirely new content and stories about the Toy Story gang, is the first of four Toy Story comics from Marvel and Disney Publishing. Here’s the official description of what readers can expect from the first comic book in the series:
Andy’s new puppy, Buster, loves to play with toys — but if Woody, Buzz and the gang can’t control the playful pooch, all that chewing and shaking will leave them in a world of hurt! Will our heroes make it through in one piece with batteries intact? Find out this March in TOY STORY #1!
About the new comic series, Editor in Chief of Marvel Entertainment Axel Alonso says:
“Everyone loves Toy Story, so we’re excited to team with our friends at Disney/Pixar to bring readers all new stories of our favorite characters from these blockbuster films. Toy Story allows us to bring great new material to the market that’s not only perfect for kids, but also a great read for fans of all ages. What’s next for Woody and Buzz in these stories? We can’t wait for you to find out!”
Toy Story issue #1 was written by Tea Orsi and penciled by Antonello Dalena & Teresa Quezada-Geer, with a cover by Marco Ghiglione & Silvano Scolari. The comic, which will be sold for $2.99, debuts in March 2012.
