On June 4th over 500 guests at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park participated in a record breaking “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” event. The 30 minute lesson was taking place simultaneously on four continents with over 10,000 participants worldwide. Swimmers of all ages & varying skill levels joined in at the Typhoon Lagoon location which featured Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy to kick off the lesson.
Focusing on proper swimming strokes, kicks and floating techniques the lesson aimed to raise ability & awareness of swim safety. Participants not only left more prepared for water safety, they all received a free DVD, “Disney’s Wild About Safety with Timon and Pumbaa: Safety Smart in the Water.”
