Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale, best known for her work on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, High School Musical, and Phineas and Ferb, will soon be taking on a whole new role. Tisdale recently sold a new comedy series to ABC, which she will both star in and co-executive produce with Warren Littlefield.
The new show, entitled Under Construction, is a semi-autobiographical project for Tisdale. The multi-camera comedy centers on a young woman who moves back home while her father renovates her recently purchased “money pit,” and is forced to put her independence on hold and renovate her life along the way.
Writing the show’s script is David Holden (Accidentally on Purpose), who will also serve as a co-executive producer. Tisdale and her business partner Jessica Rhoades will be serving as co-executive producer through their production company, Blondie Girl. Tom Forman of RelativityREAL, where Blondie Girl has a development deal, will also executive produce. Blondie Girl Productions also has several other new projects in the works, including Miss Advised, which is currently in production at Bravo.
