Last Saturday, The Walt Disney Company was recognized by The Jane Goodall Institute with the foundation’s prestigious Global Leadership Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. Beth Stevens, Ph. D., and senior vice president for corporate citizenship, accepted the award on behalf of the company from Goodall herself.
The award came in recognition for the company’s “long-standing efforts to make the world a better place.” In fact, while presenting the award, Goodall remarked on the fact that the company, by continuing its commitment to global responsibility and responsible global citizenship, continues to carry out the legacy of Walt Disney himself.
The event was held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
