The grand opening of Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa is just days away now, and guests at the D23 Expo’s Walt Disney Parks and Resorts arena presentation were treated to some new looks at the brand-new resort. The section of the presentation was kicked off with a performance by traditional Hawaiian dancers and singers, giving the audience a taste of the exotic culture they can expect at the new resort.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs then spoke a bit about the new resort, which seeks to blend traditional Hawaiian culture with the excellence and magic of Disney. He detailed exciting new experiences that will be found at the resort for the whole family, including the Aunty’s Beach House club for kids and some exciting offerings that teens will be sure to enjoy, such as Hawaii’s one and only spa created for teens.
However, a big highlight was a video featuring the project’s lead Imagineer, Joe Rhode. While Rhode was unable to attend the Expo in person, his video gave audience members a tour of the new resort, and provided brand-new looks at areas of the resort that had not yet been revealed to the public.
