Did you ride Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise attraction in 1977 or early 1978? Happen to get a picture of your Jungle Cruise skipper? That picture may just get you a trip to the grand opening of Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park, Disney announced this weekend at the D23 Expo.
Before becoming chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios and principal creative advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering, John Lasseter worked at Disneyland as a skipper on the classic attraction Jungle Cruise. He worked there from late 1977 to spring 1978, and the hunt is on for a picture that documents his Jungle Cruise role. The contest is simple: the first person who submits a verifiable picture of John Lasseter as a Jungle Cruise skipper from 1977-78 will win a trip for four people to the grand opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in summer 2012, as well as a special ride on the Jungle Cruise led by Lasseter himself.
Think you might just have a picture out there of Lasseter taking you around the Jungle Cruise’s exotic rivers? To enter the contest, visit Johnofthejungle.com or the official Disney•Pixar Facebook page.
