In their latest announcement of what’s in store for Disney fans at the upcoming D23 Expo, Disney has announced that Expo attendees will be able to get a sneak peek at some upcoming ABC programs. The Expo will feature screenings and Q&A sessions for the highly anticipated new ABC series Once Upon a Time and the holiday special Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.
On Friday, August 19 at 12:45 PM on Stage 23, fans will be able to watch the Walt Disney Animated Studios special Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice. The special, which is the latest installment in the Emmy-award winning Prep and Landing series, focuses on elves Wayne and Lanny. When a computer-hacking “Naughty Kid” gets a hold of classified North Pole technology, it is up to the duo to get the technology back and save Christmas. The screening will be followed by a special “Christmas in August” presentation and Q&A session. The session, moderated by “D23’s Disney Geek” Jeffrey Epstein, will feature Emmy Award-winning directors Kevin Deters & Stevie Wermers-Skelton, and producer Dorothy McKim.
On Saturday, August 20, fans will be able to take a first look at the new ABC series Once Upon a Time. The series, which brings together fairytale characters and the modern world, is described as “a modern fable with thrilling twists and hints of darkness, brimming with wonder and filled with the magic of our most beloved fairytales.” The screening, which will take place at 12:45 PM on Saturday in Stage 23, will be followed by a Q&A session featuring the show’s creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who are known as the executive producers/writers of ABC’s Lost, as well as the writers of Tron: Legacy. The Q&A will be moderated by Jeffrey Epstein. Once Upon a Time will debut on ABC on Sunday, October 23.
The D23 Expo will take place August 19-21, 2011 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and it’s certainly shaping up to be an incredible event. To purchase tickets for the Expo, visit the event’s official website.
