For a unique dining experience at Walt Disney World, character dining offers families the chance to get up close and personal with some of Disney’s classic characters while enjoying a delicious meal at the same time. There are several restaurants throughout Walt Disney World that offer character dining, so guests can find something for everyone to enjoy.
Located in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot theme park, the Akersush Royal Banquet Hall (themed after a medieval castle) features the Disney Princesses in all their glory while you dine on traditional Norwegian fare for lunch and dinner, while more familiar cuisine is available for breakfast. The menu rotates on a frequent basis, and guests will be able to visit with the Disney Princesses as they make the rounds from table to table.
If you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom Theme Park, stop by Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is located at Cinderella’s Castle in Fantasyland. This character dining experience allows guests to be photographed and get autographs with Cinderella and the other Disney princesses during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast features classic buffet-style foods, while lunch and dinner offer a prix fixe menu for both adults and children to enjoy.
Also in the Magic Kingdom is The Crystal Palace, located on Main Street, U.S.A. Winnie the Pooh and his friends are on hand to mingle with guests while you enjoy buffet offerings prepared in the live on-stage kitchen. There’s also a special buffet designed specifically for children, which features traditional favorites such as marinara meatballs, macaroni and cheese, pizza and green beans.
The Garden Grill Restaurant, located in Epcot theme park in the Land Pavilion, features family-style character dining with Chip ‘n’ Dale. The unique restaurant rotates so guests can enjoy views of different scenes from the Living with the Land attraction, and some food served here may even have been grown in the Land greenhouse. Guests can enjoy such offerings as roast turkey, sustainable fish, grilled steak and more, as well as a selection of delicious desserts.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, Hollywood & Vine features an exciting character dining experience with June and Leo from Disney’s Little Einsteins and Handy Manny. During the breakfast and lunch buffets, which feature an assortment of adult and kid friendly entrees, the Disney Junior characters will entertain guests with singing, dancing and playing.
Finally, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park also offers special character dining at the Tusker House Restaurant, located in the Africa section of the park. During breakfast hours, join Donald and friends for Donald’s Safari Breakfast. The breakfast buffet features plenty of familiar American favorites, but also a selection of unique offerings that have a distinctly African twist. During the buffet, Donald, Goofy, Daisy and Mickey will mingle with guests for special meet and greets.
Character dining opportunities at Walt Disney World abound, and can be found at all of the theme parks. While many of these experiences are perfect for children, adults can enjoy mingling with Disney characters just as much as the little ones, all while enjoying delicious food in a fun atmosphere.
