This summer, the popular character Perry the Platypus from Disney’s Phineas and Ferb will hit the road for “Perry the Platy-Bus on Tour.” The “platy-bus,” a 27-foot long customized trailer outfitted as the teal platypus from stem to stern, will tour this summer across the country. The bus will originate in New York City on Monday, July 11 and make its way to San Diego for Comic Con International (July 21-24). The bus will finish its tour in Anaheim at the D23 Expo (August 19-21).
This summer is quite the exciting time for Phineas and Ferb fans. In addition to this new tour, the show recently debuted a new Disney Parks meet and greet with the title characters, and August 5 brings the premiere of their own animated Disney Channel Original Movie, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, which will air on Disney Channel, Disney XD, and ABC.
“’Phineas and Ferb’ is a super hit and we’re taking it to the next level with a movie in spectacular 2D. That’s right, no fancy 3D glasses here – just the adventure of a lifetime as Phineas and Ferb tackle a whole new dimension,” said Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. He added, “With the ‘Perry the Platy-bus On Tour’ and much more, we’re looking forward to answering the perennial question, ‘Where’s Perry?,’ and delighting fans driving on the highways and byways this summer.”
Fans who visit the “Platy-bus” on its cross-country tour will not only be able to marvel at the 4000 pounds of Perry (which includes his bill, tail, and even googly eyes), but come aboard the bus as well, for no additional admission fee. On the bus, fans will be able to play the new Unity 3D video game “The Movie Game: The Dimension of Doooom!”, sing Perry-oke, and more. The route for this exciting new tour will be announced soon.
