Have you ever wanted to know more about the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Well, here’s your chance!
Walt Disney World and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are piloting a new program called, “Dine with Animal Specialists: an Untamed Lunch.” Similar to the popular“Dine with an Imagineer” experience,“Dine with Animal Specialists” will give guests unparalleled access to the folks taking care of Animal Kingdom’s stars: the animals themselves! Guests may ask the animal expert questions, while learning fascinating facts about what it’s like to interact with the park’s wild creatures on a day to day basis. And, as icing on the cake, the luncheon program takes place at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s restaurant Sanaa, while animals graze right outside of the eatery’s windows.
Sanaa, Swahili for artwork, is the perfect setting for the lunch, as the restaurant immerses guests in the sights and scents of African art culture. Rich spices and delightful smells from slow cooked meals surround you, as sure as the artwork placed throughout the space for you to admire while dining.
Because “Dine with an Animal Specialist” is in a trial phase for 16 weeks, the experience cannot be booked online. For information, or to book your luncheon, please call 407-928-4755. The number is actually for Wanyama Safari information, but callers interested in booking the lunch will be connected with the Itinerary Planning Office. Guests must book the experience in person by stopping at the front desk, or with the concierge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The luncheon consists of four courses, with corresponding children’s menu, and is priced at $49.95 for adults (ages 10 and over), and $29.95 for children ages 3-9. A gratuity of 18% is automatically added, and $5 of the cost is contributed to Disney’s Worldwide Conservation Fund.
