With the recent announcement of Disney XD’s cancellation of I’m in the Band, as well as the uncertain future of Zeke and Luther, fans will need to look forward to some of the new shows that are in the pipeline for Disney Channel’s sister station.
First up, Kickin It, which will premiere in June, stars Jason Earles (of Hannah Montana) as the owner of a martial arts academy. Next year, Motorcity debuts. The animated show depicts a futuristic version of Detroit, where cars and other basics have been banned. Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Brian Doyle Murray will lend their voices to the show.
Tron: Uprising also premieres next year, and will feature Mandy Moore, Elijah Wood, Paul Reubens and Bruce Boxleitner as voice talent. The animated show will feature a storyline in-between the original 80’s film and the recent Tron: Legacy film.
Finally, Disney XD will be launching an entire block of Marvel programming next year. Ultimate Spider-Man, an upcoming animated show, will kick off the block.
