With a long-standing history of honor and commitment to the military, Disney Parks has taken it a step further and extended their special offers for military families until September 2012. All military personnel and their families, including active and retired military, as well as the National Guard members and Reservists, will be able to take advantage of special hotel and theme park rates.
This news is in conjunction to the Walt Disney Company announcing their participation in Joining Forces, a campaign created by the Obama Administration. To learn more about this initiative, designed to help military members and their families, visit joiningforces.gov.
These discounts are not the only way Disney Parks honors the men and women who serve our country, however. At both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Park, military personnel are honored during a daily Flag Retreat Ceremony. Disney Cruise Line also offers special discounts for military families on select cruise lines.
Finally, the Walt Disney Company will be working with the Joining Forces campaign, as they donate 25,000 Disney/Hyperion books to the USO United Through Reading program, and will also send over 200 Operation Disney care packages with DVDs, books and games to USO centers worldwide.
