Disappointing news was recently announced for large groups heading to Walt Disney World, as Disney has recently confirmed that their “Grand Gathering” experiences will be ending on January 28. These experiences are special events designed for groups of eight or more that travel to Walt Disney World together, and are not available to the general public.
Grand Gathering Experiences that will be going away include the Safari Celebration, a special safari followed by dinner at Animal Kingdom’s Tusker House Restaurant with live animals and their keepers; Good Morning Breakfast, a family-style breakfast in Tony’s Town Square with a singing host and characters; and the International Dinner & Illuminations Dessert Party, a buffet-style meal served in Epcot’s Odyssey Restaurant followed by dessert and priority seating for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
Large groups traveling to Walt Disney World will still be able to book special experiences available to the general public that will accommodate large groups, such as the Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Dessert Party in the Magic Kingdom, as well as dine at new, larger restaurants like Epcot’s Via Napoli and La Hacienda that will be perfect for group gatherings.
