Put the selfie sticks away, please.
That’s the word from Walt Disney World Resort – as of June 30, selfie sticks will be officially banned from all four theme parks.
Selfie sticks will also be banned at Disneyland Resort in California, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland.
Prior to this all-encompassing ban, selfie sticks had been prohibited on attractions at the Disney theme parks.
Now, guests entering any of the Disney World theme parks be searched for selfie sticks at the bag check area – presumably this means having your bags checked for the sticks.
If cast members find a guest in possession of a selfie stick it will either be confiscated and returned when the guest is ready to leave the park or the guest will be asked to take the selfie stick back to their hotel room or vehicle.
Walt Disney World Resort is currently the only Central Florida theme park that has banned selfie sticks.
