A new construction project is reportedly in the works at Epcot’s World Showcase, but it isn’t for a new country pavilion. At least not a real country.
According to documents filed with the South Florida Water Management District, Disney is planning to build the ‘Epcot Frozen Meet and Greet” in a 13,000 square foot building located between the Mexico and Norway pavilions.
This new building will reportedly be the spot for guests to meet Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and other characters from Frozen. Currently guests can only meet Anna and Elsa at the Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom.
The new building will be separate from the existing structure in Norway that housed Maelstrom – the popular ride that was closed last year to make room for a Frozen-themed attraction opening in 2016. The new area will also include restrooms and several backstage, behind-the-scenes parking spots for employees.
There is no word on when construction is starting or when guests can expect to meet Anna and Elsa in this new area.
