What a busy week it has been for Disney running event enthusiasts!
If you were hoping to get a spot in the 2011 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon, you have missed your chance. The event, which will be held October 1 at Walt Disney World, had sold out of individual spots as of Thursday. RunDisney’s Facebook page is, however, reporting that there are still a few spots left with charitable organizations and tour operators. Spots also remain for the Half Marathon Relay, which is being held for the first time in 2011, as well as the Disney Halloween 5k. For more information, head over to the race’s webpage.
If you’ve missed the party – don’t worry. There’s another RunDisney event right around the corner! Earlier this week, RunDisney opened registration for the 2012 Disney Princess Half Marathon. The Princess Half Marathon weekend, which also includes a 5k and family fun races, will take place February 24-26 2012, with the half marathon scheduled for 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 26. Here’s a little more information about this special event:
Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend brings women of all ages together to participate in a magical event designed just for them. The Disney Princesses are the inspiration for the weekend’s events and will focus on the attributes every princess possesses: commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance, and strength. The event will take place at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida on February 24-26, 2012, and is set to celebrate the women who prove that anything is possible in life’s fairytale.
