While the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will take place at Disneyland Resort on May 7, the film will be screened at the famed and fabled Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
Pirateswill be screened as an “out of competition” film, and will not be eligible for any awards. However, it’s list of big-marquee superstars, like Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, and Ian McShane, ensure plenty of press and attention for the film, the stars, and the festival itself.
After its debut at Cannes, the film is scheduled to open on May 18 throughout France, and will open wide in the U.S. on May 20.
