While the information is still speculative, French website Disney Central Plaza and the Dutch site Animatie are citing a theater catalog that sets the story for the film during Mike Wazowski and Sulley’s time at the University of Fear. “[Monsters Inc. 2] will take us back to before a time when Mike Wazowski was top comedian, before James P. Sullivan was top scarer, even before the buddies joined the MI workforce. In fact, it takes us all the way back to school – the University of Fear to be precise. The reaction to the news is positive so far, especially from fans who are growing weary of a steady stream of sequels. Going back and tracing the history of the characters would be an interesting approach.
