Thanks to Blue Sky Disney for the heads up that Marvel released its extended theatrical trailer for “Captain America: The First Avenger” last week. This spot is set to debut this weekend in theaters with the film “Sucker Punch.”
After viewing the trailer, and with not so much as one single read of a Captain America comic book, may I just say….whoa.
Stylistic, beautifully shot, and true to the era that it is set in (World War II, 1940s), if the film is half as good as the trailer, it will be a hit. It seems poised to attract both fans of the comic book genre, as well as anyone who enjoys a good, old fashioned, good-guys-win summer blockbuster in general.
“Captain America: The First Avenger” hits theaters July 22, 2011. It stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, and Stanley Tucci.
