Marvel Entertainment and Huffy have announced they are developing a new line of bicycles, tricycles, scooters, and accessories bringing super hero fun to the market.
The new products will be an expansion of the bike category for Marvel, transforming the bikes into essential gear for kids who want to play out their favorite super hero missions.
The new line of bikes and accessories will focus on Marvel’s main franchises including Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Solider and Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The bikes will be in stores in the spring and fall of 2104. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will also be added to the product line.
“At Marvel we are constantly working with our partners to see how we can capture the epic storytelling of Marvel in truly innovative ways,” said Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel at Disney Consumer Products. “This new line will successfully turn bikes into more than just a transportation device, but an extension of Super Hero role play that we know kids enjoy with the Marvel Universe.”
The Spider-Man bike will be the first in its category to feature the character’s web design as a WebTrap™ that will hold villains and the hero’s toys. Scooters and tricycles will feature interactive lights and sounds. The full Huffy line of Marvel products will retail between $49.99 and $99.99.
