There has been some exciting news coming out of this weekend’s D23 Expo including the official announcement that the Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen is coming to the Magic Kingdom.
In recent months we’ve heard rumors about a Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant coming to the former Adventureland Veranda, and now it’s official.
This restaurant will feature several different dining rooms including a crew mess hall, a once hidden secret meeting room of the ‘Society of Explorers and Adventurers (yes, the same group that used to meet at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs).
The Jungle Cruise skippers will also be staffing the restaurant, so it’s a good bet that guests will be entertained just as they are on the Jungle Cruise attraction.
While there is no official word yet on what type of service will be available many are speculating that the Skipper Canteen will feature a counter service option at lunch and a table service option at dinner, much like Be Our Guest.
The Skipper Canteen is expected to open later this year.
