Say no to Paul Rudd and 3-D. Say maybe to Lady Gaga.
Jason Segel sat down with MTV’s Josh Horowitz recently to answer a few of the more pressing questions surrounding the much anticipated “The Muppets,” due out next year.
Looks like Paul Rudd was telling the truth when he denied that he was part of the cast; Rudd will not be taking his place alongside the lovable puppet characters. Also, “Muppets” will not be released in the uber-popular 3-D format. However, Segel confirmed that he is indeed trying to engage Lady Gaga for a cameo. Foo Fighters’ drummer David Grohl will also make an appearance – as replacement drummer for Animal in Electric Mayhem. Seems Animal may finally be getting the anger management counseling that he needs.
Will we love a kinder, gentler Animal? Time will tell.
For now, mark your calendars November 23, 2011 – the date the film is due in theatres. Originally scheduled for Christmas Day 2011, Disney reportedly moved it up in response to the success of “Tangled” over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Clearly, they’re hoping to strike gold once more.
“The Muppets” stars Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones, with cameo appearances also by Alan Arkin, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Billy Crystal, and Wanda Sykes.
