When Pandora – The World of Avatar opens in May at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests will be able to purchase a Na’vi Translator to help them pronounce Na’vi words.
According to the backstory, the Na’vi translator was created by Alpha Centauri Expeditions founder Marshall Lamm and it is being marketed as a “helpful tool” for humans visiting Pandora.
The translator will allow guests to translate up to 90 Na’vi words with translation cards, and the device lights up at night which makes it “perfect for nighttime explorations,” according to Disney.
The translator is sold with 15 cards and can be attached to a belt or backpack. Additional cards will be sold in trading packs. The cards are separated by Nouns (blue), Adjectives (purple), Animals (orange), Phrases (aqua), and Landscapes (tan). There are also rare cards: Plants (green) and Gear (yellow).
Disney partnered with Lightstorm Entertainment and Dr. Paul Frommer – the creator of the Na’vi language in the film.
The Na’vi Translator will be available in Windtraders on Pandora this summer.
