In line with the continued billion dollar renovation to Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort, a couple of well known stores will close shortly to make way for new retail spaces.
If you’re a fan of Engine-Ears Toys, you may want to make a final swing-through immediately. The toy store, which features an area where guests can make their own Mr. Potato Head doll, will close permanently on Sunday, July 31. (The popular dolls will be available in other locations, to be announced later.)
Also closing shortly will be the Greetings from California store. The store, which features Disney memorabilia with a California flair, is set to close its doors on Sunday, August 28.
Both Engine-Ears and Greetings from California are located at the front of the Park, in the area that was previously known as Sunshine Plaza. The entrance of the park has undergone extensive renovation to change the look from modern California to vintage Hollywood. The store closures are part of the makeover and Disney says that replacement retail outlets will be announced in the coming months. Look for new stores to open in the spaces during the summer of 2012.
