Pet lovers headed for Disney World, rejoice! The newest resort in Disney will cater to your beloved Fido, giving him a true luxury experience while you hit the theme parks.
On August 27, the Best Friends Pet Resort, convenient to nearby Disney World , is slated to open. Located directly across from Port Orleans, this lavish boarding haven for dogs and cats will feature host of amenities for your four-legged friend.
With over 50,000 square feet, and half of this amount outdoors, this resort can accomodate 270 dogs and thirty cats. Also, small mammals, such as hamsters or guinea pigs, as well as birds and potbellied pigs are welcomed. However, if you have a lizard, snake or turtle, they’ll have to find accomodations elsewhere.
Rates start at $37 per night for standard indoor boarding. If you’d like your dog to participate in a doggy play group or have that bedtime story and cuddle, be prepared to budget in an extra charge. Other options for pooches include upgrades to a private vacation villa complete with a patio and flat-screen TV showing dog-friendly movies, or a luxury suite with personal concierge service and outdoor personal play yard.
A big draw at this resort is its water park designed just for canines. Other amenities at the resort include outdoor areas for such pet games as fetch and frisbee as well as plenty of room for running.
Besides its overnight boarding option, the resort also serves as a daycare for pets. If you need a quality, safe place for Spot to relax while you get your Disney fix, this might be just the option you need.
The resort, which is operated by Best Friends, replaces five Disney kennels. Best Friends currently operates more than forty pet resorts nationwide. For more info, visit their website: www.wdw.bestfriendspetcare.com.
