There’s less than a month now until the much-anticipated D23 Expo, and new information is still coming out about the exciting offerings that attendees will find there. Today, Disney Interactive Media Group (DIMG) announced their offerings at the D23 Expo. The group’s pavilion will feature a number of different interactive experiences for guests to try out. New and upcoming games for mobile devices, online, and video game consoles will be on hand for guests to play, in addition to special guests, giveaways, contests and more.
One of the exciting new games to be on hand at the Expo will be Disney Universe, a multi-player video game to be released this fall. In the game, players will be able to enter a mix-up of different worlds inspired by beloved Disney and Disney/Pixar films, including Alice in Wonderland, Monsters Inc., and Wall-E.
Other video games that will be on hand include Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension, a video game based on the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, and Cars 2: The Video Game, which allows players to travel through exotic locations around the “Cars” universe alongside some of the films’ stars.
Also on-hand will be award-winning video game Epic Mickey, with a special treat for fans of the game. The game’s creator, legendary game designer Warren Spector, will be at the pavilion to greet fans and sign autographs on August 19 and 20.
For fans of online games, some of Disney’s popular online social games, including Gardens of Time and Club Penguin will be available for guests to check out. Those guests who prefer to play games on their mobile devices can play games such as Cars 2 and Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, available for Android, iPhone, and iPad.
Another unique offering at the pavilion will be access to Disney.com’s Create. The program will give access to its newest collection of online creativity tools, which young artists and aspiring animators can use to create such diverse projects as digital paintings, comic books, animated pets, photo mashups, music slideshows and animations. Featured as part of this offering will be access to the new Disney Epic Mickey Digital Painter. Using this new tool, guests can participate in daily art contests that will be judged by Warren Spector himself, with the winner awarded exlusive D23 DIMG prize packages.
The D23 Expo will be held on August 19-21, 2011 at the Anaheim Convention Center. To purchase tickets for this incredibly exciting event, visit the Expo’s official website.
