In the ongoing saga of union against Disney, 10 Disneyland hotel workers are threatening to begin a hunger strike on Tuesday.
The members, from Unite Here Local 11, are hoping this tactic will draw attention to the subject of a two-year contract dispute over healthcare costs. Disney wants employees to contribute to the company health plan. The union wants to keep providing its own free health care for about 2,150 members, with Disney kicking in more funds.
Hunger strike participants plan to consume nothing more than water for at least 7 days.
