To celebrate their 11th anniversary, as well as the anticipation surrounding the unveiling of their 5-year refurbishment project, Disney California Adventure has announced new names for the park’s themed areas.
One of the “lands” the theme park has changed is the Golden State area, which will be split into three distinct areas: Condor Flats, Grizzly Peak and Pacific Wharf. Hollywood Pictures Backlot will also see a name change to Hollywood Land. The existing Paradise Pier section and it’s a bug land will keep their names.
In addition to the new names, Disney California Adventure will also see the addition of two new themed areas for visitors to enjoy: Cars Land and Buena Vista Street.
The official unveiling of the park’s 5-year renovation does not have a specific opening date, but sources say Disney is aiming for a summer 2012 unveiling.
