Several restaurants on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park are getting some big changes, which park visitors will start noticing in 2012. We covered the story earlier this year, but have more detailed information to share with you.
The Blue Ribbon Bakery will be moving to Plaza Pavilion and receive a new name, “Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe,” an ode to Disney’s Mary Poppins. Visitors can expect the revamped bakery to open sometime in January with brand new offerings to entice visitors, such as the Angus roast beef salad with bleu cheese, a pastrami reuben on rye and a Caprese sandwich complete with mozzarella, basil, tomato, butter lettuce and garlic aioli.
Carnation Cafe will also be seeing some changes in the coming year, including an expansion to provide more indoor seating for guests. In fact, The Blue Ribbon Bakery is part of the expansion plan, as the Carnation Cafe will be expanding to take over the bakery’s former location. The work for this expansion will begin in January 2012, and the menu will be revamped to feature longtime favorites.
Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor will be getting a makeover as well, and adding root beer, Coca-Cola and orange cream floats to their menu. Main Street, U.S.A.’s restaurant makeover will culminate with Refreshment Corner, and construction will begin early next year.
We’ll keep you updated with more information as it develops.
