The 2012 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfredo Angelo Collection was announced last week, as well as the “Royal Maidens” collection for bridesmaids and the “Royal Blossoms” collection for flower girls. Additionally, Alfred Angelo debuted a veil collection to coordinate with the gowns in the Disney bridal collection.
The current Disney Princess characters, which include Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Tiana, were the inspiration for the bridal gown collection. Each dress has a contemporary look and feel that also incorporates fantasy elements in keeping with the Disney Princess theme, and gowns will start at $800.
Ariel’s gown features cascading ruffles, hand-made flowers and feather accents, all of which are designed to reflect the gentle movement of the ocean. Meanwhile, Belle’s frock is covered with tulle and net, but also features a gorgeous beaded corset bodice.
The Cinderella-inspired gown features a form-fitting shape and is embellished with lace and crystals. The bodice also flows to a full tulle skirt for a modern take on the classic ball gown silhouette. Jasmine’s gown is comprised of multi-tiered, shimmery organza with ruffles and a jewel-encrusted bodice.
With the Rapunzel gown, draped taffeta, a floral sash, and pearl and crystal accents give this fitted gown a modern look and feel. Sleeping Beauty’s gown features draped organza, a sweetheart neckline, and a touch of beading at the waist as well as rose-inspired adornments.
Snow White’s gown offers a lovely tulle ball gown shape, a draped satin bodice, as well as lace vines and flower adornments peeking out from the skirt. Finally, Tiana’s gown offers a form-fitting silhouette, an organza skirt, and a lace and crystal sweetheart neckline.
For even more fantasy elements for your special day, the Royal Maidens bridesmaid collection features various dresses in up to 60 colors, with prices starting at $159. Size 0-18, as well as 16W-30W will be available. The Royal Blossoms flower girl collection are designed to be miniature versions of the Disney Fairy Tale bridal collection and will be available in sizes 2 toddler to girls size 16.
Robert Oberschelp, Director Disney Consumer Products, had this to say about the new collections:
Little girls never forget their first encounter with a Disney Princess. Even long after they’re all grown up, the appeal of these characters and their stories are still magical. Together, with our successful bridal gown collection, we look forward to offering brides a stunning array of choices that help bring even more magic to their fairy tale weddings with the new Royal Maidens and Royal Blossoms line.
The collections will be in stores worldwide by January 2012.
